Who We Are...

Baywoods Assembly of God is committed to fulfilling a four-fold mission. Our primary reason for being is to:

  • Evangelize the lost.
  • Worship God.
  • Disciple believers.
  • Show compassion.
    •                                         STATEMENT OF FAITH
    • We believe.....
    • the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God.
    • there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.
    • in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth , in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.
    • in the blessed hope-the rapture of the church at Christ's coming.
    • the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.
    • regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
    • in water baptism by immersion.
    • the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.
    • the baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
    • in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
    • in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.

Baywoods Assembly has enjoyed a successful ministry and experienced much growth over the years and since 1951 the membership of Baywoods Assembly has grown from meeting in the home of one of its members to the beautiful sanctuary built in 1986, which the membership continues to enjoy today.

In the late 1800's and early 1900's small groups of people began to pray, and many received the Holy Spirit as described in Acts 2:4. Leaders of this Pentecostal movement sensed the need to organize. Groups of people met in Hot Springs, Arkansas, April 2-12, 1914. They unanimously agreed on doctrine, and the Assemblies of God was formed.
At the fourth annual General Council, the "Statement of Faith" was written and the decision was made to locate the headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. Property was purchased in 1918.
Today the Assemblies of God is one of the largest Pentecostal groups in the world. Missionaries share the message of God's love around the world.
